چکیده

This paper provides implied measures of higher-order dependencies between assets. The measures exploit only forward-looking information from the options market and can be used to construct an implied estimator of the covariance, co-skewness, and co-kurtosis matrices of asset returns. We implement the estimator using a sample of US stocks. We show that the higher-order dependencies vary heavily over time and identify which driving them. Furthermore, we run a portfolio selection exercise and show that investors can benefit from the better out-of-sample performance of our estimator compared to various historical benchmark estimators. The benefit is up to seven percent per year. JEL Classification: G11, G13, G17

MULTIPERIOD CREDIBILITIC MEAN SEMI-ABSOLUTE DEVIATION PORTFOLIO SELECTION

In this paper, we discuss a multiperiod portfolio selection problem with fuzzy returns. We present a new credibilitic multiperiod mean semi- absolute deviation portfolio selection with some real factors including transaction costs, borrowing constraints, entropy constraints, threshold constraints and risk control. In the proposed model, we quantify the investment return and risk associated with...

Primal and dual robust counterparts of uncertain linear programs: an application to portfolio selection

This paper proposes a family of robust counterpart for uncertain linear programs (LP) which is obtained for a general definition of the uncertainty region. The relationship between uncertainty sets using norm bod-ies and their corresponding robust counterparts defined by dual norms is presented. Those properties lead us to characterize primal and dual robust counterparts. The researchers show t...

Optimal Portfolio Allocation based on two Novel Risk Measures and Genetic Algorithm

The problem of optimal portfolio selection has attracted a great attention in the finance and optimization field. The future stock price should be predicted in an acceptable precision, and a suitable model and criterion for risk and the expected return of the stock portfolio should be proposed in order to solve the optimization problem. In this paper, two new criterions for the risk of stock pr...

Portfolio Assessment and the Enhancement of Higher Order Thinking through Multiple Intelligence and Dialogic Feedback

The current emphasis on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) has inspired many EFL educators to explore the impact of merging different pedagogical teaching and assessment strategies on the enhancement of thinking skills. Responding to such a growing need to investigate the effect of diverse teaching strategies on HOTS, the present study aimed to explore the impact of the integration of portfoli...

Optimal Portfolio Selection for Tehran Stock Exchange Using Conditional, Partitioned and Worst-case Value at Risk Measures

This paper presents an optimal portfolio selection approach based on value at risk (VaR), conditional value at risk (CVaR), worst-case value at risk (WVaR) and partitioned value at risk (PVaR) measures as well as calculating these risk measures. Mathematical solution methods for solving these optimization problems are inadequate and very complex for a portfolio with high number of assets. For t...
